  • We are grateful for the manner in which you and your ream responded to the emergency in our home. We diligently work toward maintaining a home that we can be proud of, but the snow and ice had other ideas. It is hard to imagine the apprehension we experienced as senior citizens knowing that “strangers” would come into our home to work. We read the newspapers and I am on the Baltimore County Commission on Aging so we have heard the terrible stories of seniors who have fallen prey to the unsrcupable repairmen among us.

    You and your team refute all of the terrible things we have heard. From beginning to end, each of you demonstrated professionalism, knowledge of the necessary to restore our home and superb workmanship. We like the way our home looks based upon the work that you completed. The paint matches perfectly. The ceiling work in the basement is invisible; you cannot see where the damage was. 

    When you and I sat down for the final review of our contract, the atmosphere mimicked having a conversation with a friend. Our thanks to you and your team for being the kind of people I always believe that we should be with our countrymen.   • I live in Maryland and this winter from December 2009 thru March of 2010, we had over 85 inches of snow. In March 2010, I had trouble with a busted water pipe and ice daming problems. Our insurance adjuster told us about Blue Heron Restoration. Blue Heron came out immediately to help us out with down gutters, and water problems. They were out the same day of our problem. Blue Heron replaced our French doors leading out to our deck, painted our ceilings, walls, and other repairs in a very short time. They did a great job, and the workers were dependable as well as the management and owner of this company. I would recommend them highly to anybody who needs any type of repair or restoration work.

  • I suffered inside damage this past winter due to the snow and cold. Shortly after the adjustor was here, I was contacted by your office about setting up an appointment. I have lived in this house over 20 years and have never had any major issues so this was all new to me. On top of this, I am currently undergoing treatment for cancer so not only was I concerned with health issues related to the damage, it all just seemed overwhelming to me at the time. Within just a few days of being contacted by your company, Bill Dunn came to access the damage and verify the report that the adjustor sent. From the moment Bill arrived he was extremely professional and yet at the same time, very understanding of my health situation. Bill found a number of issues that the adjustor missed and to help me out, contacted the insurance company for me and ironed out all the differences so that work could begin as soon as possible.

    I then met with Bill and Duayne Bechtel to set up a date to start the work. I was extremely impressed with the work done by Duayne. He was very efficient, well organized and was willing to work around my health issues. Every day after he was finished, he cleaned up, put everything back and made it easy for me to continue with my normal lifestyle which was so important to me as while undergoing treatment, issues that in my normal life would be so easy to deal with, become huge problems when dealing with cancer. There was no dust to contend with; Duayne vacuumed everyday before he left; had he not done this, I could have developed other health issues. The work was done in a much shorter time period than I thought it would be and was completely to my satisfaction.

    Bill then contacted Devine Solutions to do the final step-cleaning the carpets. Once again, I was very pleasantly surprised with the work that Joe Devine did. Quite frankly, I have had my carpets cleaned a number of times while since living here, a few times by well-known companies, but I have to say that the work that Joe did was the best that I have ever seen.

    In the future, there are a few remodeling projects ah tai am looking at and because of the service and people that I worked with from Blue Heron, your company with be the one I will be calling.

  • On June 28, 2010, a sudden break in a water line caused significant damage to a part of our home. We accepted emergency service from Blue Heron Restoration based upon recommendation by Ohio Casualty Insurance Co.

    We had no prior experience with that restoration company. We were very pleased with their quick response, skilled attention and superior quality of work standards.   • My home in Suitland, MD was damaged due to a wind storm on April 12, 2013. I was devastated, as trees in my front yard were uprooted and fell onto my house causing holes in my roof, which caused a leak in my bedroom, pulled off my siding as well as the gutters. After calming down, I immediately called Travelers, with a calming voice I spoke with Mr. Justin Terry, Property Claims Representative. Mr. Terry came to my home the same day to assess the damages and offered his assistance in covering my claim. He explained the procedure and immediately began processing my claim and assured me that if I needed any assistance or had any questions, he could be reached by phone. A check was immediately issued to begin the repairs. Mr. Terry handled my claim professionally and very courteously he made things happen expeditiously. Part of the procedure was to choose a contractor. I chose Blue Heron Restoration.

    On April 18, 2013 I met with Mr. Bill Dunn, estimator for Blue Heron Restoration, the next day Mr. Jimmy Woodland both are Emergency Response Team members. They were very courteous and professional as they assessed the damages to my home and assured me that they would keep me abreast of the schedule for repairs and work directly with Mr. Justin Terry for continuity. During the repairs of my home someone from Blue Heron was always present to oversee or explain the repairs to the sub-contractors and me. Completion date was May 31, 2013. I can’t begin to explain how happy I am with the recovery of my home.

  • We had sewage backup on the evening of Monday, May 6th and reported it the next morning. Based on the experience of friends, colleagues, and others, we were prepared for a long drawn out claims process. We are experiencing just the opposite and want you to know how pleased we are.

    I spoke with Jimmy Vorsteg on Tuesday morning. Jimmy Doukis of J&K Complete Services was here on Tuesday afternoon to start the deconstruction and cleanup. Jimmy Vorsteg was also here on Wednesday. Jimmy Woodland of Blue Heron was here later in the week and met with Jimmy Vorsteg.

    When we learned two days ago that there would be a change in adjuster, we were concerned the claim process would start to drag out. On the contrary, Ashanti Barfield was here today at 9am. He and Jimmy Woodland went over everything in great detail. Afterwards Jimmy Woodland sat down with Susan and myself and went over everything. My wife was extremely pleased that the reconstruction of our basement will begin in the immediate future.

    We have been insured by Geico/Travelers for 21 years and were considering switching to Nationwide this summer. After this experience, that will most likely not occur. You never know the quality of your insurance until you have a claim.
